Feeding my new corn? Help!

I went to the petstore to get something for my new guy to eat, and they were all out of pinkies, and had no goldfish. The next best thing they could reccommend was a few tetras, so that is what I ended up with. I was going to put a few on the ground and leave a few swimming in his water, but the ones I put in the water jumped out as soon as I closed the lid, so they are on the ground for him now too. He is in his little log/tunnel right now, so I set them just inside of it. Will he eat them there or do I have to do anything else? How long does it usually take before he will eat? We were watching him for a bit, but figured he probably wouldn't appreciate it very much, so we'll leave him be and see if anything happens. Anything I should do differently?

first feed you snake in like a shoe box not in his home also dont feed him goldfish and just wait for them to get some pinks in he wont die

Ok, should I leave the fish in for a bit longer or take them out? How long is it safe for him to go without food? I was told he is due for a feeding now. He isn't very tame yet, will putting him in a shoebox be more stressful at this point? I will give it a try though, as soon as I get him something decent to eat. Thanks!

when did you last feed your snake?

i think it's better to wait a day or two until you can get the pinkies then it is to use goldfish or tetras. the snake can wait. babies shouldn't wait too too long, but if it's an issue of quality and the food that would be healthiest for your snake to eat...

did the store have fuzzies or hoppers? sometimes a baby who's been on pinks can easily take a small fuzzie. and you can always cut something bigger in haf.

but if it's a question of fish for dinner or no food for a couple of days, i'd opt for the no food.

I don't know when he was last fed, the owner had just dropped him off and said he was due for a feeding. I got him some pinkies tonight, I guess a mouse had just given birth to three of them. He or she ate them all anyways, pretty quickly. Should this be enough for one feeding, or next time should I give him more? He came out afterwards, looking around, and I think he would have ate a fourth. He isn't that big, maybe around a foot long?

Three pinks for a foot-long snake is more than enough. Give the lil' one a few days to digest now, and all will be well.....as for the next feeding, whether it's 5 days or a week, just start with two pinks at the most. I've got a feeling that the "he's due for a feeding" you got when it was dropped off could be translated to "I haven't fed him/her in a LONG time".

My two cents. Do I have any change due? ;)
