Ok i know corn snakes eat mice and rats. I heard they eat small lizards as babies. My questions are what about the old tale about snakes drinking milk ( this sounds wrong to me) and can they eat any other raw meat or only rodent?

They can eat other raw meat..but mice have the best nutritional value. So it's possible, but not recommended.

Dunno about the milk though. Sounds like an old wives tale.

The milk story came from milk snakes. The tale is that farmers saw snakes on their cows utters and that's how they got their name. Milk Snake, but snakes do not eat or drink milk at all. I never heard any rumors about corn snakes taking milk, so i dunno where you got that one from, but the trust is mice/rodents is all they need. Nothing else. Mice have better nutritional value compared to the other rodents. If you check out rodentpro on the web you can look up the prices and nutritional values. To compare. plus if you search these forums there's a thread that i posted the link for the comparison of rats vs. mice.
