I was just wondering if anyone here knows how long you can keep frozen mice for? My friend gave me a huge bag of frozen mice but when i unthaw them they smell really disgusting and look gross aswell. I dont know if they have gone bad or what. I use frozen mice alot but they have never looked like this.

yuck... I would throw them away. In vaccumed sealed bags they could last a year or so, in freezer bags I wouldn't say they'd be good for more than a few months... your's sound like the bag has thawed before and then been refrozen, that would account for that foul odor. :puke01:

I agree with Lore. If they smell funny, I'd throw them out. It's not worth risking your snake to save a few bucks on mice.

Hmm, they shouldnt be bad yet,, i just gave them to you a few weeks ago :S unless you left them unsealed in the freezer..

but if thats the case throw them out and ill get yah more,

Is the smell rotten meat type smell or mouse pee type smell? Sometimes I get a whiff of that. It's not horribly overwhelming but it is there. I thaw mine directly in the water & the mice get kinda washed off that way (not sure if the snake cares)
