Funny light color ??

So my light starts going into a non-stop strobe effect.Time for a new one. The pet shop I went to only had fluorescent for fish aquariums.I ended up getting one that showed the lowest amount of "sun shine graph",,thinking it would have the lowest UV level....
Now,this light gives off a "purplish" color :sidestep:
Is this a big deal,,bad idea ??..

The purplish color is apparently the best light to show off the colors of fish inside the aquarium . . . at least that's what I've been told by distributors. :shrugs: It doesn't harm anything other than looking 'purple/pink' inside your viv. You want to get something like a gro-light or plant grow bulb which will be closer to a white light. No need to worry about excess UV. It's virtually impossible to come close to what they get direct from the sun.
