Got a question for everyone

Hello all,

Well, I ask this question about once every six months and it is about that time. What do you use for substrate and why? What has worked for you and what has not? Thanks all.

Snowman

I use the same as I did six months ago. I continue to use it because it works well. The stuff that doesn't work well I don't use. Talk to you in May.

LOL Dave...he hasn't asked the question here before (unless it was under a different name). He just joined the site in October.

I use aspen, by the way. ;) I use it because I like it.

I also use aspen and find it to be the best. In the past I have used Repti-Bark which was very dusty and turned my hands brown, figured it could be staining the snakes skin too. Care Fresh (regular and ultra) and Kaytee's soft sorbent bedding were used for a while, these were all dusty and did not maintain a satisfactory humidity level. Had a few bad sheds using these products. Since switching back to aspen sheds are perfect. Also I feed in a seperate container on paper towels, but may go to using no substrate in the feeding container. How's that

I use aspen as well. my snake likes to hide under it and I like how it looks. I don't use any substrate in my feeding container. My snake eats and goes back in his viv, he dosn't seem to care about anything but the food anyway!

i use aspen. i've found that my snakes like it the best out of all the ones i've tried. they hide under it alot

Aspen . . .

But, I'm with what DAND had to say . . . I

If I'm missing something, please enlighten me by letting me know how the answers to this particular question would change over a six month period? (Of course the obvious is that someone may try something new and changed to that . . .my response is that this question asked in an open forum will have already covered the possibilities with the multitude of answers.)

Sounds like aspen is pretty universal. Why isn't sand recommended, anyone? Just curious...

Hey all,

Thanks for the input. I always wonder what other people are using. There are just so many different options out there and everyone is different so I just like to ask, the 6 month thing, that was a joke. I am new to this forum btw. I also use aspen, and paper towels. Aspen seems to be pretty universal, I like it. Little dust, no fuss, works for me. Thanks all.

Aspen for the Corn, cypress mulch for everyone else. Though once the corn gets bigger, he might get cypress too.

nothing in feeding boxes

Wow im amazed to see nobody really uses Carefresh or Carefresh Ultra, guess im the only loney one...the snakes seem to dig it! (hehe)
