Hi everyone! My name is Greg and I am very new to snakes. I talked my wife into letting me get my first baby "normal" corn about 2 weeks ago. His name is Cornelious. He's about 12" long. I will post pics later. I currently have him in a temporary 5 gal. tank. I will be setting up a 20 gal. this weekend that I will eventually move him into. I have been getting alot of very useful info from all of you on so many topics. Thank you all!!
I am also new to forums and will be learning how they work as I go. I do have a question now that I just can't help but wonder about...at the bottom of some posts and replies there are descriptions of snakes and reptiles that have decimals and such, 2.1,1.1 etc. What do they mean and how do I read them?

I look forward to getting to know some of you and I will be asking other questions I'm sure::)

That totally confused me too at first! 1.0 means male, 0.1 female, 0.0.1 unsexed. So I have 3.2 corns (3 males, 2 females).
Welcome!

Hi Greg! Welcome to the world of corn snakes. There are lots of stickies in the various subforums with FAQs in them. I'd start reading those.

To answer the specific question the number refer to different sexes of the snakes and how many they have. So a 2.1 means two males, 1 female. 1.1 is one of each. a 1.1.5 would be one male, one female and 5 unsexed (unknowns). You may read other things like I've got a trio (1.2) or a reverse trio (2.1).
