Hi everybody I am new member. I purchased my very first snake recently. It is a baby corn snake. I have been reading up on handling and care of it but there is one question that I have been getting two different answers from. I was told that all snakes have salmonella on its skin and if you dont wash your hands well and then touch your mouch you can get it. Is this true at all?

well

You no one can say that every single snake has it. But if you don't wash your hands and somehow get it on your hands, then put your hands near your mouth you could get it. Snakes do carrry this sometimes as with other reptiles.

Its the best practice to always wash your hands after holding any pet, even a dog. U have heard that a portion of salmonilla cases are from dog toys, more than reptiles. So wash after playing or touching *any* animal and you'll be fine.

There is a chance that your snake may carry salmonella so to be on the safe side, wash your hands after handling!
