heating theories

Hi

I have been doing a lot of research and talking to people and there is a lot of conflicting information on the use of heating. Especially on heat pads.

I have seen people using theirs only at day, some only at night some through the year and some not, some in the tank and some outside, etc.

Yep, there are as many ways of heating - and using heating equipment - as there are keepers! Ultimately, you need to read around, then figure out what will work for you and your snakes. Also depends where you are in the world, what your local climate is and whether you do or don't use air con, central heating, dehumidifiers etc.

The only thing I'd say is an absolute with Corns, is that whatever heat source you choose and wherever you choose to position it, it needs to be controlled - either with a thermostat or rheostat. Corns actually prefer things surprisingly cool - lower than human core body temp in the warmest side, which will usually feel lukewarm or barely warm to our touch.
