Hello and growth question.

Hiya, I'm doing research right now on getting a corn snake hatchling in June and the question of a food supply has come up. I've decided to order my feed and have it shipped rather than pay double the price at the local pet shop, but the only experience I've had w/ snakes was taking over the care of a friends ball python for a year while he was having housing issues. I'm wanting to order a few (4-6) month supply of mice to save on shipping, but I'm not sure of how fast corn snakes grow. Can someone give me an idea of how fast my snake will switch from 1 size of mouse to another?

I realize that I can get by feeding multiple mice in one feeding (I had to do that some w/ the ball python when my local supplier was out of larger mice/rats).

Thanks, Vance

Oh, and Im looking at either Moreptiles or South Mountain as possible breeders to buy from.

I dont think there is realy anyway to tell how fast your snake will grow. Every time i moved my snake up in food size or amount he hits a growth spurt. What i have done was ordered 50 of the first couple sizes pinks and fuzzies. I think they spend a longer time on pinks but i still have some left over and he is now on fuzzies. You just have to be carfull with freezer burn cause it takes down their nutritional value. Thats why I only order about 100 at a time and that last quite awhile. Its also nice to have the next size up before they are ready for it so its there when they are ready. I get mine from the Mouse factory and they have good prices.

Hope this helps. Good luck with your snake search.
