HELP MITES

Well I went to put the repti-bark back into my corn's tank and would you know I see a little black thing on his back.. so I take it off sqeeze it and there ya go there's blood. I looked very closely and there where 2-3 more inside the tank! Well... in my corn-snake book it says that a good way to treat mites on the snake is to drown the mites.. (by putting the snake in a dish with a screen lid over it so the snake has enough room to get his head out of the water and not it's body (let the mites on the body drown)... is this a good method? I don't see any mites on his body at all but could there be eggs? I'm going to do a full tank starlyzation and everything... but I have a large vein with lots of leaves.. could I soak that in really hot water?

Advice would be great right now..

You might want to go to the search option on the site and type in Mites. There's loads of advice on treatment. The Cornsnake Manual also has lots of ideas.
