i have these corn snake morphs which would breed true and which would make other intresting morphs

1.2 lavenders het hypo
1.0 hypo lavender het hypo blood
1.0 butter het motley
0.1 butter
0.1 hypo blood unknown hets
1.1 caramel motley het amel stripes
1.0 golddust motley
0.1 golddust poss het motley
1.0 bloodred
1.1caramel stripes unknown hets
1.0 axanthic butter stripe
0.1 butter stripe (sibling to above)
1.1 butter motleys
would the pairs breed true and what would be good to put together. thanks kevin

i would breed your trio of Lavenders het hypo together to get 1/2 lavenders and half hypo lavenders out of each clutch.

I would breed your hypo blood female with the lavender het hypo male to get hypos het lavender blood.

your goldust motley female to your axanthic butter stripe to get 1/2 goldust motley-stripes het anery and half butter motley-stripes het anery.

your Male axanthic butter stripe to your female butter stripe to get butter stripes het anery.

your bloodred male to your female caramel motley het amel stripes.

most of your pairs if you put them together then the offspring will all be the same as the parents.

Hi,
I am very interested in this snake..........

Axanthic Butter Stripe

I am wondering if you could post a picture or two of it. Is this infact a Snow that is homo Caramel? I just have never heard of the morph having that as a trade name. If it is homo Anery then the naming it as Axanthic is misleading. Anerythrism and Axanticism are two totally different alleles. I just find this name confusing. Can you help me with this? :shrugs:

I assumed that it was a butter stripe also homo anery because on Ians vivarium morph guide it shows an 'Xanthic Snow (aaaaanaanacaccac)
Xanthic Snow is the name being given to Snows that are also showing the Caramel gene. The result is very similar to a regular snow, but with a slight yellowy tint.'

so i assumed that was what it meant?

But he said Axanthic not Xanthic. Those are also two different traits. No? :shrugs: Xanthic I could see due to the excess of yellow pigment but Axanthic suggests no yellow whatsoever.

Good spot, i hadn't noticed that.

I completely agree with your above post. I expect that it is purely a miss spelling or something similar.

hi guys yeah the snake was sold to me as a axanthic butter stripe have no pictures to up load as im on a pc at work however he was purchased from lex corn uk he is only a 08 hatchling and and i think alex was the first to produce these in the uk she also has a picture on her web site if you need to take a look i hope this helps kevin

Hi Guys,
Please understand that I am not debating the genetic make-up of your snake as I am sure it is exactly what LexCorn says it is (Amel + Anery + Caramel) nor would I try to undermined her integrity or professionalism. She produces some very nice snakes.
That being said, I went to her site and found the picture of the snake you were referring to.

The only thing I am questioning is the name it is being marketed as. I would definitely say that snake is homozygous for Anerythism but Axanticism suggests something totally different. I guess I am just Nit-Picking. Either way if the snake you have is like the one in the picture you got your hands on a very nice addition to your collection. I look forward to seeing the babies you produce this season. Congrats.

Be nice now. I am multi tasking. It is Sunday morning ya know? I am drinking coffee, trying to post on the forum and watching Transformers all at the same time.....lol.
24 mins? HA! ;)

It is a very cool morph though. Great pick-up he got.

it will be a while before i breed him but the snake in the picture from lexcorn is the one i have i brought him from her about 3 months ago

Lol, actually i haven't a clue what time it is over there, it happens to be late afternoon HERE.

Very nice indeed!

If you don't think it rude of me to ask of its price?

I'd like more info on the Xanthic Snows if someone has that.

How much more yellow are they supposed to be? Is it all over the body or only specific areas? Is it thought to be (or proven to be) a direct effect of the homozygous caramel allele?

And what is the hypothesis behind the "axanthic butter"? If caramel gives a yellow tint to anery (or snow), what causes the axanthism in a caramel snow?

Anybody else working on this?

Nice snake by the way...
JF
