Well, over the last weeks I've been trying to perfect the whole vivarium temperature thing and have pretty much got it, although it still goes up and down a few degrees with the room. Well, today I got it at a stable temp for about 7 hours YAY ME... I go to switch my bulbs and... MY NIGHT ONE DIED!!! ANY SUGGESTIONS?!?!?!?!

OH! well, i guess crank the heat up in the house and pray for luck... try putting something solid over part of the top of your viv (not completly covering, your buddy needs air) so the heat escapes less. do you have an under the tank heater? if so, even if the air temp drops, the ground will still be warm and he can curl up there!

Relax, leave the 'day' light on over night. The snake can hide if the light bothers it.

I'd recommend you get an undertank heater and do away with lights as a heat source all together. They create too 'dry' of an environment, and frankly, I just don't trust them as far as a fire hazard.

Be sure to get a thermostat to control the temps of the UTH.

Yeah, but it's crap and kinda doesn't work so well, but I flicked it on...however, I can't crank up the heat though, I'm in the basement. The only problem is that the hot spot is now on the opposite side of the tank and that it won't get as warm, but things should turn out.
