Hey, so my hatching escaped last night, I belive he squeeze through the hole for this thermostat. Found him laying under his tank he has a broken tail, I say broken he can't move it now and it's got a red ring around where it stops moving from. He had a small cut on his side and a larger bruise a bit further down. He also has slight swelling around the head.

I don't belive it needs vet treatment, but will be keeping a very close eye on it and if it doesn't improve within a couple of days he will be going to the vets.

My question is should I remove the aspen from his tank and put kitchin roll down for a few days to stop any potential irritation from it?

I am so sorry this happened to your little guy. I would definitely put him on paper towels instead of aspen. As for treatment on the little guy I will let someone else with more experience comment on that.

As for the hole he escaped out of out a small piece of paper towel in the hole and tape over it. This is what I did with mine just for extra security. Hope he feels better soon.

if my arm was broken and I could not move it, I would hope somebody that really loved me would carry me to a doctor

If my dog got hit by a car and broke his leg, I would carry him to the vet.

Too many people have the attitude, "Well it's just a snake. It only cost 29 dollars. I'll just buy another one."
 
Not my choice I'm afraid, I don't drive, live in the middle of know where, 1.5 hour walk to nearest town, 3 hour walk to the nearest reptile vets. My mum won't take me as says he doesn't need the vet. I'm trying to do the best I can with what I have got.

Switch him to paper towels and if you have an triple (or double) antibiotic with no pain med in it then dab a little on the wound once a day.
