Hi guys I've been looking for a forum to join regarding snake care as the few UK sites I've found tend to be lacking in activity, or don't allow additional registered users.

I'm a relatively new snake owner having bought an anerythristic corn back in September. The pet shop was cutting all reptile stock and no longer had an on-site specialist, due to a stock issue the assistant thought he might be a ghost morph.

He seemed to be an extremely social snake and used to being handled so I thought I hit the jackpot when the shop were doing a 50% off day on reptiles.
I had not measured Otto at the time but he was very small for his age when we first got him (born July 15) the shop was still feeding him pinkies. He seemed to always be hunting for food and he looked more like a worm than a snake.

He's now happily eating small mice and looks much healthier. The only concern is that he doesn't often go poop unless put in some luke warm water. He'd stay in his viv perhaps a week after eating being backed-up but as soon as he's in water there he goes..

Anyway, I look forward to speaking with some of you guys.
 
Reggie had the same issue and for a few months was bathed weekly. Recently he has been fine so hopefully yours will start pooing soon. Agree about the UK forums being very quiet. Which is also why I just joined this forum.

I've got a female that likes to hold her poop for a long time as well. I've discovered that eventually she goes on her own time, and handling certainly seems to help encourage it.

Is it maybe worth leaving him to figure out how to poop himself rather than bathing in water? He gets handled regularly and certainly did used to go shortly after being handled but in recent months has changed. Hopefully after some time he'll be back to usual again :)

I read somewhere online that frequent bathing snakes is not a good idea?
