Droptines

:shrugs: I was at a local fair over the weekend,,and found a little reptile "show".A guy and girl were showing off some snakes and a few turtles and frogs. As I walked by I noticed the girl had a corn snake in her hand,SO I stopped to listen a bit.
Long story short, the guy told everyone that corn snakes can be found in NY,,I spoke up,"they aren't indigenous to NY",,his response,"oh yes they are"
:sidestep: at this point the wife is giving me that look,(shut your mouth),,so I let it go,BUT I am right,,,right?

Yeah, they're considered rare which is why they are "protected" and unlawful to own in New Jersey.

Unless it's changed, Jersey doesn't allow you to keep "normal" corns, but "morphs" are OK...kinda strange, you can see where they were going with it, but........lol

If they were native in NY, it'd be illegal to own them here. Maybe he lucked into catching an escapee so thinks they're native?

As of March 2007 (when I renewed my permit), only "red-eyed morphs" were allowed.

Native New York corns would be easy to identify. They'd be packin' heat:twoguns: accompanied by a side of attitude.

So if you complied with that, and bred a pair (showing my genetic ignorance here), what would you have to do with babies without red eyes (again, if that's even possible)? Immediately release 'em?

It's not possible, as all red-eyed morphs contain amel. Both parents would be amel and whatever else, so all babies would be at least amel (red-eyed).
