So, I've been creepin around the forum for a while now, but I wanted to wait to get some pic of my lil snakey before I introduced us!
So, I'm Crys. I'm 19, from Alberta, Canada.
I got Spike from some good friends of mine who had her and another corn, Goob.
My boyfriend and I are brand new to snakes, so from time to time I will probably freak out about nothing and hope that you guys will tell me everything is ok!

Alright.
So I weighed Spike today and took her out to play for a bit and got some pictures!
She is 2.5-3 yrs old. Weighs 284g. Is 38 inches long. And eats one med. adult mouse every 7-10 days. She is getting more and more friendly every day since we got her. I had her out for about 20 minutes today and she seemed to enjoy it. When I put her back in her viv, she had a drink and cruised around, then went to bed a lil while later.

But here's some pics of her!

And her tank!

I have a screen top on it now, rather than the crappy aquarium lid.

Welcome, Crys! I'm a total newbie too, and I feel you on freaking out about every possible thing that could go wrong. I honestly don't know what I would do without this forum :)

Super sweet viv set up, btw. It's amazing!

Thanks! It's HUGE and right in our living room, so I figured I should make it pretty! lol

Wow guys, I just fed Spike and she nabbed that mouse before it hit the ground! And she ate a week ago! Crazy eh?

Yeah. That happens sometimes. I've "accidentally" dropped a mouse while placing it into their feeding enclosure only to have the snake grab the mouse LONG before the mouse hit the bottom. Goes to show how they could easily track a quick moving live mouse should the need arise.

Just recently, my VBB caught a large rat while it was falling.

VERY kewl.

It was crazy! Yes, it really shows what they are capable of!
Spike will only eat live, she has never eaten f/t(even tho her previous owners tried)
But needless to say I keep a VERY close eye! I would rather get bit by her than her bit by a mouse!
Snakes are so exciting!!!

Having been bitten by a mouse and a hamster, I too would rather get bitten by a non-venomous snake than a rodent. LOL.

I'm glad to see that Spike is keeping your interest! Gotta love that. :bird:

Rodents creep me out!
She definately keeps me occupied, my friend (who has never seen a live snake) came to watch her eat today and was completely horrified! :D
