To cut a very long story short, I have 3 two year olds that have to share a feeding tub for now, all though they are fed separately. All have been excellent eaters and never refused a meal until now.
Only the male has refused his last 2 meals which is not like him at all. These few missed meals are not a problem as he is in excellent health and condition. I am curious to get some opinions if it could be the pheromones from the females that make him skip the meal and act agitated in the tub. It is the exact same tub he has always been fed in and everything else has stayed the same.

I would think that would be a viable explanation and I wish I had your "problem". I have 2 males 03 that have no interest in the opposite sex :shrugs:

Yeah that could very well be the problem. I have an 04 thats already interested in the girls. Of course, he's about the size of some of my 03's. I'm sure that has quite a bit to do with it. The only odd thing is that it is sort of late in the breeding season, and your females should be getting out of breeding mode and not putting off as many pheramones, so it may be something else as well.

Just to update, he ate just now. I had soaked the tub for 2 days (dried it of course). Placed the mouse and him in it then put them in the mouse room, just to get that smell going. It worked. :)

The females are also '03's, when exactly I cant say but they are all over 3 foot, never been bred before nor cooled to my knowledge. This male is the most docile snake I have seen, even for a corn. Nothing bothers him and until the 16th July never missed a meal. They will actually take mice right out of my hand if I don't move. Just for the record, they do get fed every week and are growing like weeds.
It sure would be handy to be able to get into their heads and see what's going on in there.
Many thanks for your opinions.
