how big should the male be for breeding?

alrite i was just wondering how big/old the males had to be to breed?my candycane is about 3 foot long and about 3 years old.hes pretty small because his previous owner didnt feed him much.ive had him for about 2 months and have braught him back to a healthy size for his lenth and he is steadily getting longer.what dya think guys?would he be ready for next spring?

If he is 3 years old, he has reached sexual maturity. He would be okay to breed, just make sure the female is of proper size.
 
I have had a male that was only 8 months old and around 2 foot in length successfully fertilize a female. Your male should do the job without any problems.
