How Long Can A Corn Go Without Water

Can someone tell me how long a cornsnake can go without water. We have a weekend vacation planned when our snake sitters will not be around to fill his water dish. I notice that V's approx 16 oz water dish needs to be filled every day or it goes dry.

I have though to get a deeper water dish but want to find out if its neccesary.

Yeah .... get a bigger bowl. If it's only a weekend you shouldn't need snake-sitters. It has to be over a week before I think about getting someone in to look out for mine.

I'm sure he'd survive without water for a day or two ... can't say I know how long it'd take before you started to hit serious dehydration problems.

A snake, especially a hatchling, should have water every day. Use a bigger (and deeper) water bowl.

a larger dish or multiple dishes should work. 16oz a day seems like a lot. is the water dish sitting over/under the heat source? may want to move it the cool side if so.

yeah i would dot several around. I wouldnt leave my snakes without fresh water for 1 day let alone a weekend.. I always look at it like..would i want to be drinking warm water thats far from fresh ? also snakes use their water bowel to go to the loo.... mmm lovely !

There is no way a 16 ounce water dish is going dry in one day. I have 4 ounce water dishes that take a week to go dry. If you've got your dish right on top of the UTH you need to move it to the cool side.

Also it depends on the width and shallowness of the bowl. I have two kidney shaped wide, but shallow bowls that go dry very quickly.

just get a deeper bowl. I change the water 1-2 times weekly but the bowl I have could realistically keep enough water for at least 4 months before needing to be filled.
