How Long Can A Yearling Last In A 10

I have two yearlings in separate ten gallon setups one is eating small pinks every Friday and the other one is eating large pinks every Thursday. How long can they stay in those for or what size food item will they be on that I upgrade to a bigger set up

It seems from what I read it is based on the length of your snake. If you snake was to lay around the corners of the cage it should be 1/2 of the perimeter of the enclosure. I have mine in 20 gal glass terrarium. I like the Zoo med brand because of the pins that go in the top to keep the lid secure.

Also they probably shouldn't be on pinkies anymore. If you have a food scale you can put them in a container and weigh in grams. And based on weight you can determine what size mice to feed them. Or you can double or triple the pinkies. But it's just simpler to up the the food size. You can do a search in this site for feeding and see what other people are doing.

If your yearling is so small as to be on pinks, 10 gallons is probably fine. I agree with Corning. The real problem is that most yearlings need larger prey than pinks.

I know that but Don told me that not to double the feeding of small pinks he was feeding the the two males I got from him one pinky and the female I got from him he just started her on large pinks the last time I didn't do what he said he got mad

How old are your snakes in months and how much do they weigh? No one can really offer good advice without that information. Yearling usually means they are over 12 months old and less than 24 months old. They usually need food larger than pinkies but sometimes not if they have been on maintenance feeding.

Well let's see one was born on August 1 2015 and the other on October 30th of last year. He was doing maintenance feeding with them and the one he just started on large pinks cause a lump can be seen after she eats. I was following his advice

Okay. That explains it. Thanks. To answer you now knowing that, the 10 gallon tanks should still be fine.
