How long can you freeze mice before they go bad?

Also is it ok if the pinky thaws a little before going back into the freezer? I bought a pinky for my new amel corn (will wait a week to try to feed him so I don't stress him) and it was quite hot out so during the drive home it thawed to slightly squishy/soft. I put it back in the freezer immediately though.
I was also wondering how long they can stay in the freezer until they go bad. Is it ok if it's frozen for a week? I guess I probably should have just waited and bought one the day or two before his first feeding from me.

Well if packed right i'm pretty sure adult mice can last a year.Well packed pinks can go for 6 months i think.
Pinks that are just in the freezer can last for 3 months I think. And it's ok that your pink thawed a little but you just shouldn't put it back inn the freezer for what ever reason you might.

It should be fine for a week as long as you have it in a container that seals shut (ziploc baggie, the bag it came in, etc) to avoid freezer burn. Also, I think as long as you got it back into the freezer right away you should be alright, but I would suggest in the future you do exactly what you mentioned at the end of your post, wait to pick one up until about the day before his feeding day. :) Good luck with your first feeding!!

Aren't the 2 big benefits of feeding f/t that your snake has no chance of getting in a fight AND you can stock up for multiple months? By getting the mouse every time the day before feeding you might as well feed pre-killed.

I would suggest insulating them better, if i get my mice i wrap them in MANY newspaper layers and put that in a styrofoam box. Other ways of insulating would also work, just be creative :D
You could also use those blue ice packs :D

I agree with atmox. I buy in bulk so I rarely have this problem but when I do need to go down to the reptile store, you can imagine here in AZ we have to prepare. So as soon as they give me the bag of mice they get wrapped in a paper lunch sack and then go into a lunch box with ice packs.

The breeder I bought my baby corn from said to stock up for 12 weeks of food, that was the max she said you don't want to keep them longer (now this is for mouse pinks) She sells them in sealed ziploc bags and when I get home, I put the bag in a tupperware container as well. So far so good!!
