OK I've been asking a lot of questions these past few days. but how long should the shedding process last? When mine sheds it takes about 1 week? Is this fine is this normal? I'm just trying to know more!
I think it really depends on their size. What I've seen in my two, is that as they get bigger, it takes them longer to go through the whole process. From the time they first look dull until they actually shed. When I first got my normal he was only 10 grams and it took him probably a week total. My amel, who is now 130 grams, takes nearly 2 weeks to go from dull to shed. That's been my experience.
I agree completely with Bobos Mama. My little one takes about a week and sheds once a month, while my older male sheds every 2-3 months and it takes him like 2 weeks!!! Size and age are always factors but one week to shed does not seem like anything to worry about.
Are you talking the entire process of going blue to the actual shed? Then yes, about a week. If you're talking about actual shedding, I've never had a snake take more than one evening, and usually not more than a couple of hours to shed completely. This includes my arboreals. It shouldn't take a week for your snakes to shed. The humidity is too low if that's the case.
