How to make a swimming pool?

I won't be doing it yet as I would want a larger tank first, but does anyone have instructions or a site/book they can recommend that would give me step-by-step instructions on how to make a swimming pool with a filter for a corn snake? I've never seen Severus swim in his water bowl. He's never pooped in it either, so I'm guessing he's one of those corn snakes who doesn't want to dirty his drinking water. I thought it might be cool to give him a swimming pool to see if he'd use it. I've never done anything like this though and have no clue what I need or how to build it.

Thanks!

I'm not sure I'd bother, especially if he shows no inclination to swim/soak in what he already has. Downsides to putting a pool in the tank include: possible drowning, likely increase in humidity (may be useful for sheds but too much can cause respiratory problems), high likelihood of getting moisture into the substrate where it can mold/mildew. If you want him to swim, I'd do so in an occasional and supervised way in the bathtub or perhaps a large flat plastic bin.

I have seen some people on here with "swimming pools", but they are not filtered. You can buy filtered water falls at pet stores for frogs and turtles, but I think that is too tropical for a colubrid.
What others have done is have 2 containers (so one as a base and one as a liner), and hot glue the base to the bottom of the glass (or you could just sit it in there without glue). The liner holds the water and is removable for cleaning. I noticed that stones are put on the bottom of the "pools" to elevate the bottom, so the water is essentially more shallow, and no worries of a drowning.
Personally, if your snake loves it that much, I would just get a much larger water bowl (or a second water bowl) and fill it with the same amount of water as you normally would, so no chance of drowning.
It would be an awful lot of work to get a working pool going for one snake :p

I am in the process of working out a swimming pool for my year old corn. I have a thread where i made one but it was a crude design. no filtration. I am working on figuring out how to solved these issues. So far I have no issues with humidity and I have no issues with the substrate mildewing but i use coconut bark which actually dissolves waste over time, so that may have something to do with that. If I can ever get the time to get mine up and running well i'll post something on here for ya'll. When i have free time my mind gets to thinking and I start working on projects like this. :)
