OK folks I have fried my little brain trying to figure this out!

I have a female Bloodred (grade B looks a lot like Serps' Mary) No clue if she is het for anything.

1) Should I breed her with my Rev. Ok. or my Anery A ? Again I don't know any genetic info. on them?

2) What would the out come of the breeding be? I don't get the Bloodred gene and how to do it in the Punnett square:confused:

Also I have already breed my female Snow X Anery A, I have no genetic info. so I wasn't going to put the Rev. Ok. in the mix. Could someone tell me thier outcome just so I can check myself?

Someday I'll get this stuff:eek:

THanks Colleen

What I would do is..

Well,

I would put the Bloodred with the Anery A. I find the Anery A bloodreds awesome corns. If you put her with the Anery A you should get Normals het for Bloodred and het for Anery. If you cross a brother to a sister of these off spring you will get Bloodred Anery 'A'. They look different from the Pewters.

If I am correct: Snow X Anery A will give all Anery A het for Amel.

Ah... personally, I prefer amel bloodreds, so I'd put her in with the Rev. Okeetee. (You wouldn't get the amel bloodreds till the F2 generation, but the cross can produce some really pretty amels in their own right.)

i agree with kat on this one. :p though the anery bloods do look tempting, oh it just so hard to choose in life! lol

Argh... my brain must've been on vacation when I made that post... you won't get any amels in the F1's unless your bloodred is het for it...

But... in the F2s, even the amels het bloodred can turn out pretty spectacular.

There... sorry about the confusion.

THanks all

I think I'll try her with the Rev. Ok. cause I love those reds! Now I'll have to decide how many of them to keep!

SnowX Anery A : I thought it would be all Anery A het Amel

Quick question Would you guys breed a pair of the F2s from this to the F2s from the BloodredX Rev. Ok.?

Thanks Colleen

If you mean F2 BloodredAmel X F2 Snow, you'd get amels het bloodred and anery.

I think you mean "Would you breed the AneryA het Amels to the normals double het bloodred and amel?"

IMO this wouldn't be a useful endeavor. You'd end up with normals het anery and possibly het amel... and amels het snow. Some of them (about half) would be het for bloodred. You might be able to pick out which ones are het bloodred...

Either way, it would only be cool if you really want to produce the "bloodred + snow" combination. :)

Ya I played around

with the genetics of those pairs and realised that. Oh someday this stuff will just come naturaly!

Thanks all

Colleen:)
