By The way he's about 15 maybe 16 inches And i have him in a 20 gallon tank!

and i thought my boy was nippy.

I still work with mine, and try to handle him for a few minutes 4-5 time per week between feedings, and he has improved since when i first got him but he is still fiesty.

I don't know much about helping you but I find it amusing that your snake's name is Paco. I have a friend whos name is Paco and he is nuts, maybe its the name. lol

It's strange that a corn that small wouldn't be hiding instead of striking every time you walk near the tank. A 20 gallon is big for a snake that size, so make sure he has plenty of hiding places from the warm end to the cool end. Check your temps too. They should be mid 70s on the cool side and low to mid 80s on the warm side. Temps that are too warm can make a corn snake aggressive. Do you feed him in his tank? This can condition your corn to expect food when you go near the tank.

Even if your conditions are perfect, some corns are just high-strung. They usually mellow out as they age, but there's the occasional one that will stay flighty and defensive. Good luck.

I don't think a smaller tank is neccessary so long as you provide LOTS of cover for him. Connor went straight in to a 20 gallon when I first got him, and incidentally he was aggressive and highly strung just like Paco. He's turned out just fine.

I've met snakes before who strike at the walls as you walk past. They can often be tamed down, but as with any animal they require patience.
