Ok, just looking for some sympathy here. I had to have oral surgery on Friday to remove my front left bottom tooth and a bone graft done. Until they can figure out if they're gonna do an implant or a bridge, I haft to wear an irritating retainer wif a fake toof. I get the stitches out Wednesday, but man I had no problems using that vicodin over tha weekend....I probably won't have a final toof for another month or two while the bone heals.

(I'd post a pic showing the space and the pretty black stitches but then CAV would probably use it for his Cooter Johansen family album)!

I called my sis over tha weekend for some sympathy, but she just get singing the Green Acres theme song to me....and hubby keeps calling me Jethro, so I decided to come here.....(OK, bring it on.....)

*takes a big breath*
AWE!

No I really do feel for you lol. My dad had his teeth yanked to get dentures, and then he lost his job and couldn't get them! :eek1:
Now he eats everything cooked to mush. :grin01:

Hope you heal quickly. Bone graphs sound painful!

I feel for you! My teeth have been a mess since I was a kid. I used to refuse to eat anything but oranges, so needless to say, the acid tore my teeth up. I have 2 prominent front teeth that are going south, and would love to have them crowned, but the price is ridiculous. (over $1000 per tooth) So for now I'm stuck with one that almost looks like I don't have one, and another that might as well be gone. It's a mess, and embarassing. I hope to get it taken care of w/in the next few months, but after this gallbladder surgery I just had, it'll be a stretch. I'm sure you're feeling good with the vicodin, but wish you well anyways!~

Poor thing! I feel your pain also. :( I hope everything goes well for you.

Don't worry until they start with the theme from "Deliverance". :grin01:

I empathize, though. I swear, if I researched my heraldry, my family crest would have bad teeth and acne scars on it. If it weren't for my brother-in-law dentist, I'd look like a hockey player.

A minor league hockey player.

A bad minor league hockey player.

I hear ya on that babbaloo! I had to have surgery last friday to laser off some cancer cells on my cervix (owwww). I have never been under anethesia before, but man I don't remember a single thing. I don't even think I got to do the "Ok count backwards from 10" thing before I was out. I have no problem laying in bed on a percocet binge while my family takes care of me and pampers me though! Hey, at least I got 4 days off from work, which is unheard of for me. Needless to say, it was a much needed vacation. Its just crappy that it took surgery to get it lol! My Dr. is absolutley awesome too. She called it "star wars-ing" my cervix lol. Hopefully she got it all. I'll know in about a week.

I hope you feel better honey! I sympathize with you! And if I ever need any can opened, I'll go strait to you lol (sorry I couldn't resist!)

I completely understand where you are coming from. When I had to get my wisdoms surgically removed due to impaction....I went through the same..."Chipmunk" is one name that comes to mind...Truly though, I think any type of work that gets done on your mouth, is very painful. I hope that you are feeling better soon....:)

You guys are too funny! Thanks!

I used to refuse to eat anything but oranges, so needless to say, the acid tore my teeth up.

You know, now that I think about it, I did love to eat lemons and salt all the time when I was young. My teeth have nice shape and coloring, but the enamel was probably acid-washed away too!

Don't worry until they start with the theme from "Deliverance".

:laugh01: :laugh01: Maybe I'll freak hubby out by playing some romantic banjo music in our bedroom tonight. I'll roll over, give him one of my sexiet toofless smiles, then pin him to the bed and say "Sqeal like a Pig!"

Catherine, now see, I kept telling myself that a tooth is nothing compared to more serious stuff other folks are going through. Between this and your worries with your brother I pray for all the best to you. Isn't it strange how we don't really know about all the background stuff going on in our lives here and yet I read nothing but high spirits here on this forum.

Thanks everyone for all the laughs and good wishes!

Boy that sounds all too familiar to me. I just went in today and had 2 titanium implant posts done. I had bridgework breakdown last year and had it removed and also got the bone grafts done. Another couple months for the bone to grow around the posts and I can get a new bridge. The amazing thing is, neither surgery hurt at all and all I have for pain is ibuprofin. My periodontist is an incredible surgeon and has a very fine chairside manor. The other amazing thing is how much all this is costing me. No comment there. Hang in there, it will get better.
