Importing from Canada to the US.

I have friends around Vancouver, BC that are generously gifting me with a pair of baby corn snakes. I live in Tennessee. Does anyone have an information on where to find the information on any regulations that might apply to this? I've looked at the CDC, Customs department and even the Fish & Wildlife Service sites, but my web-fu is apparently rusty and I'm not finding information that my brain will agree to comprehend. Any assistance would be fantastic!

I'm not aware of anyone actually shipping snakes across the border. I do know it is legal to DRIVE them across the border, which is what most people shipping to Canada do... they'll ship to near the border, and then the person comes and picks up the snake.

See this thread - it is about bringing from US to Canada - but it is the US Fish and Wildlife regs that you need to deal with http://www.cornsnakes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33674

Links are in that thread but also find info on importation at http://www.fws.gov/le/ImpExp/CommWildlifeImportExport.htm. If you are bringing only a couple back as pets there may not be an inspection requirement - investigate with F&W first - make sure you are doing it legally.
