Incubation Question

Hi, I live in California and I was wondering if I should incubate cornsnake eggs in a homemade incubator,a reptibator/hovabator,or just get a small plastic tub and fill it with damp vermiculite/hatch rite and poke a couple of holes in it and then put it on top of my refrigerator. On my refrigerator it is about 71.6 degrees.Could I incubate eggs there? I heard it has ro be 78-86 degrees.
