iPod question

Hey everyone

For those of you who have iPods, could you help me with this question:

How do I go about putting movies on my iPod? I got an 80GB iPod Classic off Amazon, and it arrived today. I've uploaded all my songs (the massive number of 364) :grin01:, but I'm not sure on how to put my DVDs on there. I know that they've gotta be ripped to mpg4, but I don't know of any suitable software. Also, once I've ripped it, how do I go about putting it into my iTunes movie library?

Thanks

All the best

David

Dave,
I take it you have the actual dvd in hand yes? If so, you need to download a dvd ripper found here http://www.smallvideosoft.com/dvd-ripper/. I havent used this exact program so pm me if you cant figure it out. One that program I believe you can select the option to rip and convert to MP4 (Mpeg-4) for your ipod. There should also be an option for your "output" folder. Preferably, set it to go to your desktop when complete.

Getting it to itunes
On itunes go to file>add file to library>(select the file that is on your desktop)

This may be confusing as I am about to leave and in a rush. Pm me and I can download the program and walk you through it if need be.

Thanks for your help mate. (I have an Epi Gibson ;))

I found a suitable DVD ripper, and yes I have the DVD in hand, LOL. It's ripping as we speak, I guess the main issue was how to transfer it to iTunes. Thanks for that. Once I've found a suitable program, I'm fine with it and don't need any walkthroughs, but thanks for the offer.

Appreciate it.

Ok cool, glad you it working. You have an LP too huh? Kick a$$. What kind of music do you play? Im in a metallica cover band out here in Phx right now.

Naa I've got an SG. I play metal as well, but mostly Iron Maiden. I also play some acoustic and fingerstyle. :)
