Is my Domino Fat??

Ciryluk

Hi all,
I've got a 10 month old unsexed Anery Corn called Domino. Domino is about 2ft long and started taking small mice 2 weeks ago.. I didn't think anything of its weight until today when I brought home 3 new Corns.. 1 of which was an 18 month old Crimson around the same length as Domino but a fair bit slimmer! Does Domino look portly to you guys? should I increase the amount of time between feeds? He/she is feeding once every 7 days at the moment... or am I worrying over nothing with him/her being such a young snake? Any help or advice much appreciated!

TIA
Cheryl

Thanks Stuart... I don't think my Anery is overweight or obese yet but I think it could get that way if I don't start watching what it eats! So I'm going to feed it every 10 days now instead of every 7 and see how it goes!;)

i wait until he comes out searching for food, then about 2 days after that i feed him, so i dont have a schedule, i just wait for him.

From what a lot of people have posted, the younger snakes usually don't get overweight because they are still utilizing food to grow. The adults that have stopped growing, are the one's that tend to get fat. You're snake might just be a fast grower. I know the breeder I got my Okeetee from, has a snake that is not even a year old, is twice the size of the others, and is already ovulating. She doesn't get fed more than the others, she is just bigger. I think it's just a genetic predisposition.

ahhh well looks like my Anery isn't having its routine changed after all.... was out looking for food today.. 7 days after being fed!;)
