Hi there, I'm joining from Canada! More specifically a small town in Northern Ontario that no one has heard of :)

I am definitely an animal lover, I have cats, ferrets, rabbits and a dog. I've had snakes (ball pythons and corns) in the past, as well as rats, mice, ASFs and the like :p

I'm finally getting back into snakes after not having any for a few years, and next week I am getting an Anery A cornsnake :) I'm very excited for the new addition, and am still trying to find that "perfect" name for him :)

In the past I always kept my snakes on paper towel, but since the little anery is going to be my only reptile I'm going to try to be a little more fancy with his viv :) Lots of fake plants, and I see some people on here have repti hammocks that their snakes love, so might try one of those. Was considering dried out eco earth for a substrate, but I think I'm just going to use Sani chips :)

Anyways, thanks for reading my introduction, and I hope to see you guys on the forums!

Welcome! I'm originally from a small town in Northwestern Ontario - moved two years ago. ;) I bet I've heard of ya!

Oh really? Small world! I live in Thunder Bay :)

Not the best area for trying to get snakes, I'm having an anery corn shipped in from Tails and Scales :) Very very excited! I'm sure I'll be posting many many pictures.

Look forward to it!
I'm originally from Kenora, ON (15,000 pop.), about 6 hours West of you.
It's surprising that there aren't many corn breedings in Thunder Bay... but then again, I'm now in Southern Ontario and had the same problem.

I know where Kenora is :) I'm originally from Atikokan, and a lot of our sports teams go to Kenora for matches :p

Yeah, I think there's a few people who breed them locally - don't really know any of them personally though. And I've always really loved anerys - of any snake species really - and figured even with the shipping price I'm still paying less that I would be for one of the sickly normal babies at PetSmart.

I know where ya are too!

aha, go Ontario! it looks like more and more in the great white north are getting into reptiles, I love it!

and Congrats on getting back into snakes. :)

^^^ aha! your probaly the closet person to me that I have seen on here!
Kitchener's I think a 45 min drive from me.. but I could be wrong. lol

I know I have been there though!

Awesome! I think it's more like 2 hours, but hey - what's the difference ;)
I have a cousin who lives in Barrie too.
Are either of you planning to attend any of the upcoming Retile expos?

www.reptileexpo.ca

lmao! yeah I don't drive... so 2, hours would feel like 45 mins to me! again.. sad. ;)

but yes!! I plan on going to the up coming one with my boyfriend, in Toronto.
anyone else attending that one? :)

I'm excited!!

Jumping into the 'small ontario town' train haha.
I'm originally from Earlton, about 2hrs north of North Bay. Just moved to Sault Ste Marie this month for college! Got my first snake a week ago, reverse okeetee female.
Still needs a name if anyone has some super sick suggestions ;) hahah!

Doesn't seem to be too many of us. We need more breeders out here so we can get some good morphs. Nice to meet you!

Also from Thunder Bay! Yeah, I'd really like to get a few interesting morphs this winter, but not really sure how possible it'll be. Slim pickings up here it seems.

Anyone know of some quality Canadian breeders? :) - not to hijack the thread by any means.

Bienvenue! From another fellow Ontarian. :)

My mother is from up north (Iroquois Falls).

Thrall: We have an awesome breeder in my area, Darren of Reptile Rainforest.

I'm planning on hitting the expo this year I think. I'm looking for a cinder and have had no luck finding the one that I want. Here's hoping that there'll be something there :)
