Keeping Corn's together

I thought I have read numerous times to not keep corn snakes together in the same cage?

I am correct right? I keep going into our local PS and on their label that have them as being able to live together. Boo.:eek1:

Yeah, I would not take the advice that the local PS has, corns do best on their own, in separate viv's. If you do a search here on the forum for "co-habing" there are several instances of cannibalism....if that doesn't happen, it does put the snakes under a lot more stress and pressure....then there is also the problem of if one gets sick, or regurgitates, the other might get sick (in the case of mites) or in the case of a regurge you won't know which snake had the issue.....

Yep, correct you are.

Pet stores are notorious for failing to keep proper husbandry for their reptiles. Which is often why handlers suggest against buying from them. Of course there are always exceptions, but I have yet to be really happy about any situation I've seen walking into a store.

I lied. I was pleasantly surprised with a new Pet Smart in Kitchener, ON a few weeks ago. The husbandry was acceptable, with most of the snakes having separate quarters, and all having clean tanks and at least one hide and a water dish per animal.

;)

The PetSmart here in NL is good, too, actually. Snake in separate tanks, one water dish/hide per snake, they also track when they eat etc. and can provide the information should you ask.
