keeping up the humidity

I am having a bit of trouble keeping my humidity up and constant. Any suggestions on how to keep it constant?
Thanks alot!

Your humidity can vary. It doesn't have to remain constant. The humidity for my snakes ranges from 40% to 60%. Sometimes it will drop below 40% for a short period of time. If you feel your cage is too dry then you can use a cool air humidifier near your snake cages and this will bring it up some. I use one in the winter because heating the house really dries out the air. You can also put a larger water bowl in the cage and this will help also. Misting the cage is also an option but don't get the substrate too wet. I hope this helps some. Good luck.

I dont worry about the humidity in my vivs as the water bowls are 1/4 the size of floor, then the temp in uk is not as hot as the states so its not such an issue over here.

I just put a small cup of water in the warm side of the tank and it works fine. He has a separate small water dish to drink from and bathe in.

The humidity doesn't have to be constand as long as its in the 40s to 60s range. Try misting the cage when it's shedding so that it can shed in one piece... another thing that you can do is to put in a water bowl with some wet paper towel in the tank to increase the humidity a bit.

Good Luck and Happy Herping!

y you live in North Florida and found a cornsnake in the wild you'd want to keep it with a pretty good humidity. It's what it has lived in for years. Then gradually take it down. Overal though your houses humidity should be fine. You'll want to either increase humidity or bath your snake during it's shed cycles though.
