Killing Mice With CO2

Well like most of u i reached a point where it was time to freeze the mice for my snake and well i was thinking of how i was going to kill them... thumping? slamming against something? or co2? in the end i decided the most humane way i could actually do it was with the co2 everything went fine and they were out of it in less than a 2 mins. Well heres the question

How long after they are co2 can i freeze them?
 
i'd say right away CO2 doesn't leave any harmfull effect it just kills them so all you have is dead mice, just vacume pack them or ziplock bags and toss them in the deep frezze
