Can someone show me the difference between a Lava and a Amel. Lava (Lavamel) so that way I might be able to tell the difference when I get some hatchlings? Thanks to all who reply.

Amel, Lava and Lavamel

Amel Okeetee, Lavas breeding, Lavamel and comparison photo of the small ones of the same morphs.

The small ones are siblings and the adults are as well.

I searched around in my computer and came up with a few more photos. A hatchling photo of a Lavamel and another one as an adult. A comparison photo of a Lava and Amel Okeetee siblings and some more comparisons of a Lavamel, Amel Okeetee and Lava Corn, all from the same parents. The above adult photo of a Lavamel is very different. Many Lavas from this line have a type of frosting in their blotches which she happen to get, which really sets her apart.

It has been very obvious which hatchlings were Lavamels to me, since the Amels in the clutches are Amel Okeetees and are very red and white. The Lavamels actually resemble the Lavas more than the Amels from these clutches if you ask me. Now if we breed them into some Sunglow lines, it may not be so easy, except for the Lavamels have the blue “V” on their heads like the Ice and Lavas do when they are born. They actually have a bluish cast in their background color which many Lavas and Ice do as well when they are born, but is soon disappears or gets covered up.
