Lifting Scale

Gintha

*stretches* I'm out!
I did a search about lifted scales and don't see anything that is like Treasure's. Hes weeks from shedding still, and has a very thick feeling scale lifting on the top of his head, one of the two large ones. The other large one is also starting to lift somewhat. It looks and feels almost like a fingernail! The colour part underneath isn't damaged as far as I can tell, but it does look dry and pale. It seems to irritate him greatly and I was wondering if there is anything I can do to help him? I searched his viv completely and there is nothing sharp that he could have hurt himself on. Heres some pictures of the scale. (Roped mom in for some help hehe.. can't let her see that her pic is on the internet or I'll be murdered =P)

A leftover from a previous shed? You could try the damp towel/pillowcase thing. Let the snake slither around and get soggy for a while and it might break off on its own.

Nope, his sheds have all been perfect for 10 months. I check them over at least twice. I can't touch it, it obviously hurts him. Was wondering if I shouldn't trim off the part thats sticking up? So he can't get it caught on anything else and ripped off.

It's too bad that it's irritating him, but I don't think it's anything to really worry about. I'll bet that he's 100% after next shed. :)

(I owe you some virtual hugs, so these go out to you, Treasure, and Mom.) ;)

Your Mom looks just like somebody I work with. It shocked me a little when I opened the thread. :)

Hehe Dean *hugs* mom is a student like me =) Shes a psych major tho. Her only job is to cook me supper *gets beaten* :bang: ow... okie.. she cleans the bathroom too *gets beaten more* ow!!! :sidestep: Shes actually a pretty cool mother, cept when she tries to joke ~,~

I'll try a little polysporin tonight and see what he thinks of it, probably the only time I'll ever tell him to hurry up and shed hehe. Thanks for the quick replies =) Almost had a heart attack when I saw his scale like that :eek1:
