Limp,dried tail on my corn

I noticed that my corns tail wasdarker than usual. When I checked it out it seems to be dried out an is limp. The snake seems to be healthy otherwise(eats regularly with no prob.and is very active.) Any suggestions on what this might be? Thanx

I would be worried that your snake has not gotten all the old skin off his tail the last time he shed. Keep an eye on him, especially the next time he starts to shed. Make sure the whole skin comes off, down to the very tip of the tail. If not, give a little help (running him past a damp towl might work). If it is skin, his tail could eventually die and fall off, so keep an eye on him.

Yes I think Mo hit it on the spot... its probably just a shedding problem... but it also could be hurt... if he was hiding in the substrate and you put the hiding or water bowl down hard you could of got him... or if you were holding him and closed the lid to quickly and got his tail... I would think that it will heal back... but most likely its a shedding problem...

Thanks I will check it to see if it is a shedding problem I've been reading on here about what to do if thats the case.

It should be the problem of the old skin.
Make sure that this happen again. Continuation of this will kill the muscles of the area of the old skin. Remember to keep the humidity higher during sheddings.
