Hi. She definately does look horribly overweight, but she also looks eggbound. Looks like 2 eggs, from what I can see in the pic. She also like an "elderly" snake, but perhaps that's because she's in the blue. If not egg-bound, then she is definately compacted.

her old owners took the okeetee to a vet when it first developed the bulges near her vent and was told that she wasnt impacted or egg bound ...the bulges r not hard in any was but soft fatty tissue..i been told to massage the bulges so as to help them to break down...that and plenty of exercise and propper feeding hopefully she will lose the wieght need to lead a more healthy life

Alot of adults can develope those fatty "hip" deposits. My older pastel female had the same thing, and was not quite as chunky. Massaging and alot of climbing exercise seemed to help quite a bit. That and a slimfast every morning :grin01:

I have a female 'lookeetee' who came to me as a 3 year old with some big hips on her and even after dropping to 164g after double clutching for me, she has regained her hips whilst being on a one mouse a week diet (after the initial couple of months of 1 mouse every 4 days to get 'some' weight back on her bones) I think she'll probably have them for life.

I think the reason a lot of adults get like this is due to owners thinking it's fun to watch their snake eat, so they feed it for their own entertainment. Of course there are just those that hold their weight extra well too.

Morph, I have to add here...

I understand she's coming up to a shed but I noticed on your snake there are dark pigment stripes down her body. What I see in the picture seems to be a lot for such a young snake...I'd say it's likely she's a bit older than 4...that and the fatty buildup.

Well i have just got bk from takin my corn to the vets and she has been given the all clear for impaction he said she has just been over fed and not been given enough exercise so all is well he also advised me to let her have as much exercise and massaging of fatty areas as poss so as to break em down that aswell ass a reduced diet of a medium mouse every 12 days...i`ll keep u all informed to her progress
