Hadn't been here in awhile but had to post what the hubby found in the garage today. This guy was all laid out across my breeder mice tanks and quite calm to be wild. Pretty sure it's a male. The hubby pulled a mouse out and feed him. He wants to keep him. He has some scars and the end on his tail is missing but appears healthy.

You lucky dog, you! I guess different parts of the country has different treasures. I caught a beauty yesterday too! A very big boy! He was approx. six feet and very heavy (black rat). I'm sure both of the males we found were out lookin' for a girlfriend, right? He was soooo calm, I held him for probably 45 minutes before I relocated to a safer environment. See ya' later!

Wow, he was a pretty one!! I think I want to release this guy just b/c I feel bad keeping him but the hubby wants to keep him. Maybe I'll turn him loose on my off day and tell him it escaped..hehe

Yep, you can tell by the size of his head compared to my thumb in the pic how big he was. My daughter was unsuccessful in persuading me to keep him... I would have considered it if he was a "she". I got a slightly smaller male on Friday too, unfortunately he was intentionally run over by a neighbor!! He was alive but hurt pretty bad... he'll probably make it though. They feel bad about it (now). They walked over last night after I caught this huge dude and realized there's not a lot to be scared about.

Oh yeah, I'm in AL about 10 miles from TN state line. We're thinking he's a gray ratsnake.
Yeah, you're too far east for it to be a Texas Rat, just looks kinda brownish in the pics. Nice snake!

I thought he looked too brown also but saw pics of grey rats and it said something about how ones in this area are more brown?? He looked like the pic.

We also turned him loose. There's nothing but woods and corn fields around us with some neighbors. He got very active when we got back outside with him. The closer we got to a good spot(away from neighbors) he was already stretching out. He took off pretty fast too:)
