Does anyone have any experience using a peel and stick uth on 3/8" thick glass? Most consumer vivs or aquariums are only 1/4" thick.

Also, those of you who use the heater in the tank with a ceramic tile, do you peel and stick it to the bottom of the tile or just lay the tile over top of it?

Thanks in advance for any info.

It should work just fine, just remember to use a Thermostat or rheostat to adjust the temerature so you dont accidently fry your snake. As long as the probe is inside ontop of the glass and your sure the temps are getting over 90f (85 best to set at) I would think it would be fine. Even with a 1/4th thickness it will get to hot if you dont have something to regulate the temperature of the heat pad.

As far as tile....I dont know to much about that.

I tape the uth on the bottom of the 10 gal tanks. That way I can take the tanks directly into the bathtub for cleaning. I'm hoping to upgrade to a rack when they've out grown the 10 gallons and use heat tape instead of tanks and bigger uth pads. And I'll be filling those empty tanks with some bright eyed new comers, you can't leave a perfectly good tank sitting empty. That's a crime.

I think it is safer to use heat rope inside the habitats rather than heat pads or heat tape. I think it was Allalaskan who posted a neat video on heat rope.
