My adult corn has some loose and broken scales on his underside
the broken ones appear to be cracked and the skin beneath isnt shiny like the outer layer does any one know of why this is happening?:(

"Scale Rot--a skin problem caused by poor husbandry, unsanitary or overly wet conditions or poor health where the snakes scales may be reddish or bloody (necrotic)."

Doesn't quite fit your description, does it? Could it be a burn? Do you use heat rocks or an UTH without a thermostat?

I would like to see some pics if possible...

thanks for getting back to me ,It dosent fit like you said ,I have two snakes and keep their tank clean always and monitor the temp constantly,I cant get any photos to send you ,but as the days go by it seems almost as if he has shed but kept his skin on if you know what i mean?

It sounds like you are keeping two corn snakes in the same tank. Do you know when both of them shed last and if the skins were shed in one piece? Is it very dry in the room they are kept?

Corn snakes don't need high humidity in order to shed properly, but if yours seems to be having problems, you might try making a humid hide (hole cut out of a plastic container with some damp substrate such as paper towel or sphagnum moss in the bottom) only to place in the tank while the snake is in shed, and see if that helps. Soaking is another idea to aid in normal sheds and help any stuck skin to come off.
