5 Star Serpents
Ryan and Terri
I have a clutch of anery's, ghosts and coral ghosts hatching right now, all that have hatched have pipped and exited the eggs on their own with no issues, as I was removing one from the hatch box tonight though I noticed a fairly significant lump on the neck of one of them, it is about an inch and a half back from the head. At first I thought it was a nasty kink, however upon further inspection I discovered that it is not a kink at all, the spine itself is fine, it is more on the side of the body also. It is a hard lump, doesn't move around at all. The hatchling appears to be fine otherwise, has no restricted movement or anything and the rest of the body is perfectly normal.
These babies are all big babies (about the size of my other 6 week babies), incubated at 85-86 and are hatching at 7 weeks exactly. The parents are definitely unrelated, the female is from a small breeder here in Canada and the male was recently imported by us from JMG.
Has anyone ever seen something like it before? If so did you find out what it was and did it affect the snake at all?
If it eats and thrives fine it will be strictly pet only just for my own peace of mind.
Any thoughts? or suggestions? :awcrap:
