Hi Everyone,
I have a w/c corn that I have had for about 4 months now. He is doing great, but I have a question. ( he's about 24" long).

Sheds: (26, 25, & 35 days apart), seems to be pretty predictable, although the time "between" sheds seems to be lengthening.

Growth: (Nice & Steady, length as well as girth), (looks like about ¼" in length a week).

Now for the question:
I have, just 2 weeks ago, increased his "mouse size", to small Hoppers. All of a sudden, it's like this guy turned into "Kudzu", you can almost watch him grow!

Is this normal, do they hit a "growth spurt", 24", really doesn't seem very big, when he's only about as big, as the big part of my pinkie finger. (say 5/8").

P.S. No problem with the food size, (5-6 minutes), start to finish.

Thanks!

They do have growth spurts, especialy when you alter the size of mouse, there are more nutrients in a larger mouse. The are more calcium in the bones, more vitamines as the fuzzy may be nibbling at solids, and more importantly more protien in the larger mouses mustle mass.:)
Is there any way of showing your W/C baby, and do you know where it came from, as I am interested in what they look like from different areas of you fine contry.

Female?

Also, it may be a female. Juvenile females tend to bulk up in the spring, just in case there is the possibility of breeding.

Mine went thru a huge growth spurt when I went to full-sized mice. She's put on 4". I'm expecting her to shed at any time now!
