Maybe a dumb heating question

I just went and got the digital thermometer with probe, and the dimmer cord to plug it into, now I'm just wondering do I have to use a "reptile" UTH or can I just use one for us humans that we lay on? I hope this makes sense.

Listen to Lennycorn. He knows his stuff.

A human heating pad is not designed to be on for long periods of time, and they are often not waterproof. Pay the $10-15 for the reptile UTH.

Will do. Have to get online and buy one now. Noone in town has them. Any suggestions on where to go?

Also, thanks for the help.

Don't know if you are aware of this or not, but the UTH should cover about 1/3 of the length of the Vivarium. This will provide a good heat gradient so your snake can choose whether he needs heat, or cold :)

Okay. If I use the flexwatt tape (say 3" wide) and have a 20 Long. Do I use two strips to give a 6" width of heat? Or more or less? Thanks for all the help.

Wow! Those are great prices. I paid $44 plus tax (5%) for each of my 50-60 gallon Zoo Med Repti Therm uth mats. Awesome prices! I bookmarked the site.
