Mazuri Rodent Feed

Does anyone know what the major difference is between Mazuri 6F, and Mazuri 9F ? The feed store where I get my rodent feed always has to special order the 9F. However their supplier always has the 6F on hand. I'm thinking about switching to the 6F.

Also would anyone like to share how much they have to pay for a 50 lb bag of feed ? I have to pay $ 23 and I live in the Upstate of South Carolina.

I pay $25.00 for 50# through a local reptile shop. The reptile shop doesn't stock it, but sells it to a few customers. It is not Mazuri (which is almost impossible to get here, but a product by Kaytee rat and mouse food. At the feed store the best I could do was $18.99 for 25# ( Mazuri 5663).

Muzuri 6F and 9F are about the same. The only difference is the fat content, which is what the numbers stand for. ie: 6% fat and 9% fat. Both formulas are for rodents maintained in colonies to produce food for other animals (snakes).

Usually the difference in cost across the nation depends on how far they have to truck it. The feed stores here are getting $35 a bag, or at least that is what they would get if anyone were to buy it.

The fat content is the difference, but that can make a big difference in production for an animal.

The stuff that susang gets, which is roughly equivolent to 6F (actually has slightly higher fat content) costs $13 for 25lb bag and the 9F costs $25 for a 50 lb bag --- i had to special order it (3-4 weeks), so i bought 2, but now I've decided to get rid of the feeders ...
