Meal Worm Question

Hopeless Addict
I have a small colony of meal worms that I keep for my chickens and beardie.
I've been noticing lately quite a few beetles with malformed or missing wings. I'm not sure if this is a problem with temps, humidity or if they are cannibalizing each other. Their temps are mid-70's during the day/mid-60's at night. I feed them greens which keeps a fair amount of humidity in their box, but not enough to condense on the sides. I don't separate the beetles from the worms. I think the colony is getting a little big for the box they're in and I plan to upgrade to a 5 gallon tank. I recently moved them to a darker, warmer location and have noticed they are growing much faster than before which is to be expected since they are warmer I guess. Any ideas on what could be going on here to cause their wing problems?? Thanks!

They eat on the pupae, which messes up development. Separate the pupae; they are very very easy meals.

Also, bump the temps up and keep them there, don't lower for night unless you want to slow production. Mine do fine at room temp, but I'd like to bump them up to 80 or so.

Be very careful with the humidity as well. Too much = mold and will kill your colony extremely fast.
