i've mentioned before that my corn tends to "go" practically every day or two, especially after feeding definetly. I've recently come across some info regarding indigo snakes : that higher temps quicken the snake's already fast metabolism and thus that results in "more cage cleaning".
Now i'm generalising that that statement applies to all snakes in general, and my concern is, that my corn is kept in a 80-86 temp room, with no direct heating to the tank or so. Bit on the high side i know, so would the statement above explain his frenquent toilet visits?
Also, and more importantly, does being kept at that temperature range in the long run do any damage to the snake? i've noticed on particularly warm days he soaks in his water bowl ( so that could be a sort of temperature gradient?). I can't think of ways to lower ambient temps besides air-con, any suggestions?
(Abit of background info : so far he ( striped normal) seems fine, eats regularly, no regurges)
thanks in advance,
Jin
