Min. brumation temp and other questions

Hello thee! 2008 will be my first year breeding, and I've decided to brumate at least the female and possibly the males too. I purchased the pewter female a couple of months ago, she's a big girl. 4 years and 580 grams. The male is still quite small, only 1,5 years and abotu 200 grams, so I'm not sure whether it would be wiser to just keep growing him up while the female is brumating or to brumate him too to "sync" them up. :shrugs:

My second problem would be that my apartment is about 24-25 degrees warm (75 to 77 fahrenheit) and this obviously doens't give me the choice of just turning off the heat and the lighting. :/ I'm currently measuring the temperature in the basement (it's a rather warm basement though as I live in a block of flats, not a house... and I'd rather have the snake(s) inside the apartment even though we DO have our own little booth down in the basement) and I expect the basement temperature to be around 20 degrees or so. So the handiest option for me seems to be the fridge. Sadly the highest temp I seem to be able to get in the fridge is about 47 degrees fahrenheit, about 8,3 in celsius. Too cold? >_<

So:

1. Should I also brumate the male in addition to the female?
2. a) Fridge or
b)basement or
c) an unidentified option

Thanks for your time, everyone.

I can't really help you with the brumation temperatures, I'd say the fridge is a teeny bit cold but the basement is too warm!

I was also wondering is it ok to brumate the female but not the male, and then put her into his tank after she has brumated with fairly good chances they will mate? If anyone could shed some light on this...
