I've got 1 milk snake, and he or she (don't know yet) is a great snake and all but it's small and it's not going to get very much bigger.(it's about 1 1/2 feet long and 3-4 years old) And I kind of want a bigger snake like a corn snake. The only reason I got my milk snake was because my cousins were moving and didn't want there snake anymore and my mom knew I really wanted one so she said I could have it. Now I want a little bit bigger snake (a corn) What can I do to convince(sp?) her?

Well how old are you for one?

Let her know corns only reach a max of six feet but are also a fairly slender snake. They could never serious hurt a human and cornsnakes are one of the most docile snakes in the world. They don't shed fur, they don't smell, and don't need to be "fixed" and are low maintance pets. After your intial investment of enclosure , heating and snake they are pretty cheap to maintain and even vet check ups if need be are normally under 100 with a fecal.

also show her some morph pics from the serpenco gallery or from south mountain reptiles (unsure of link) and she'll have to fall in love with them - my mum did and she hates snakes and now i'm getting a whoel shed full - literally so you can't go wrong! Make sure to add in the holiday factor i.e. you can go away for a few days and just have a larger water bowl and know it's fine on its own so there's not the bother of finding somebody to look after it!

tell her the average corn snake only gets about 4 feet (don't bother with the 6 feet stuff she'll freak) tell her it's the most popular pet snake in the world and that many experts recommend them as a first time pet...:)
