Moving long distance

So this November I might be moving from Ohio to Colorado, pretty good distance. I have a 5 year old corn that I would like to go with me. Thinking ahead... what would be the best way to get him there? I thought of shipping him but at that time of the year in an unheated airplane sounds very cold and I would have to get a family member to box him up for me after I already left since I would be driving. The other option I see is taking him with me in the car. It would be a 2 day trip with the possibility of 3 days if there is trouble of some sort being around a 24 hour drive.
I would feel better if he was with me. But would it be bad to not have a heat source for 2 days being in the car?
The other problem is fitting his tank in my car haha but I guess Ill figure a way to.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There are many options. You could transport in the tank if you have it with you already, and buy an inverter to plug into your cigarette lighter to power the UTH. Inverters are handy to have, and will cost you about what shipping would. You can transport in a pillowcase or other suitable bag, and just make sure the temp. in the car is within reasonable limits (which usually isn't a problem, since most people keep their cars at temps comfortable for themselves on long drives), and take him in with you when you go inside places in a bookbag or something. Or, you have have someone certified ship him with a heating pack.

If it were me and I had only one snake and didn't know a certified shipper, I'd take him with me on the drive.

I brought 8 corns with me from Chicago to Seattle and I did it via the car. And no bad stuff at all on my trip.

So here's what I did: I stopped feeding 2 weeks before the trip but kept the fresh water coming. I didn't have the ability to provide them with a heat source during the trip so I figured I'd let them skip a few meals and empty out their systems. I'm glad I did. No regurge or funky bowel movements...or loss of life. :)

I also put my bigger snakes into pillow cases and then into "the snake box". I have a large sized cardboard box that I kept the deli cups and pillow cases in. I made sure that it wasn't in direct sunlight during the drive as well. But because of the sun setting I did have to move the box around a bit to ensure that it was shaded.

I didn't offer any water to the adults but the hatchlings had some soda caps filled with water. Not sure if they ever drank it or not. But anyway, I think you should keep your snake in the car.

Good luck!
